Here's a rare vintage advert for Jess Franco's 1970 thriller LES CAUCHEMARS NAISSENT LA NUIT (NIGHTMARES COME AT NIGHT). I believe this poster was intended for the Belgian theatrical release. According to OBSESSION: THE FILMS OF JESS FRANCO, this film was "Only released in Belgium."
But I believe there may also have been a brief theatrical release at the time in French Canada. Can any of our French Canadian readers confirm or deny that. If so, has anyone seen or have access to images of any adverts?

This is indeed the original Belgian movieposter,a friend of mine bought a whole lot of them when the distributor went out of business...Incredibly they are all still in mint condition since the ones he bought were never used.
I officially confirm : it was released in Canada, specifically in the french-speaking language province of Quebec.

To my knowledge, it was released in Quebec only.
Regarding the release date, I have the info somewhere in a series of books that list every release in French Canada from 1959 to 1982... However, they are stored somewhere in boxes for the moment. I remember it was in 1971, 1972 or 1973...
